ST. JOHNSBURY - 42 year old, Takahashi Hummingbird was arrested Wednesday for possession of marijuana and cocaine.

Hummingbird was stopped for speeding by Officer Anna Allard, a rookie officer who  has just graduated from the Vermont Police Academy.

"When I approached the vehicle I was stopping the operator, I had a strong smell of what I believed to marijuana, through the training and experience," said Allard

When she noticed the smell of marijuana she requested backup. When the vehicle was searched Hummingbird was found with 84 grams of marijuana and around one gram of cocaine.

A court date is set for Hummingbird on April 23^rd.
