Retiring Doctor Bid Farewell

LYNDON - After several decades of work, Dr. Tim Thompson has decided to retire. The founder of Corner Medical, Thompson says that it's as good of a time as ever for him to be retiring.

"It's not a bad time for me to retire because it means that we got coverage," Thompson said,  "We got people who can help take care of people, and they're all excellent people. So, I think it's a real gift to the town of Lyndon. It's a wonderful thing to see grow and get better and better as time's gone along."

Thompson founded Corner Medical in 1973.  Many of his patients have been loyal to him for quite some time.  According to Dr. Joyce Dobbertin, some won't even listen to other physicians until they speak to Dr. Thompson.

"Many times when I care for his patients, or when other people care for his patients, until they speak with Dr. Thompson, they're not going to change anything they're going to do," said Dobbertin about Dr. Thompson's patients.  "They're going to wait and talk with Dr. Thompson because his word is gold."

Thompson looks says he looks back on his career as a doctor, and is glad he got to be a part of many patients lives.

"People say the most intimate and rich things of their lives, and to be part of the solution, that's the greatest thing that could happen to a human being," Thompson said.

Dr. Thompson's last day at work will be Monday, October 31st.
