Chimney Blaze Sparks Argument between Daughter of Merrill Lynch Co-Founder & Firefighters
PEACHAM - A chimney fire sparked just off 3013 Taylor Rd at the Heavensent Farm Wednesday. Ten fire trucks responded to the scene to extinguish the billowing flames. Several fire departments including Peacham, St. Johnsbury, Danville and Barnet showed up to the scene.
Soon after News 7 cameras arrived, they were asked to leave by firefighters. According to firefighters on the scene, the owner, Francis Woods, threatened to call the Vermont State Police on the firefighters.
The Heavensent farm is owned by Francis Woods, the daughter of one of the co-founders of Merrill Lynch & Company, Inc; a multi-trillion dollar investment company. The farm is currently on the real estate market for $3.5 Million dollars.
News 7 was not given an explanation as to why Woods threatened to call police.
Nobody was hurt in the fire.
