Peacham Receives First FEMA Payment

PEACHAM - The town of Peacham has received money for damage done from the May floods.
Peacham received an automatic deposit payment from FEMA for 16 thousand dollara. This is the first payment from FEMA for Peacham, and the town certainly hopes it isn't the last. Peacham has asked for over $520 thousand from FEMA for damage from both the May floods and Tropical Storm Irene.
"We hope the rest will follow soon," said Peacham Select board member Anette Lorraine. "We were relieved to get it all together, and so far it looks like it's all in order, especially with that first payment."
This first payment from FEMA will be used to fund road projects in Peacham. The town currently has 34 reconstruction projects from the May flooding that are being funded by FEMA.
