LYNDON - The economy is affecting everyone, including some companies here in the North East Kingdom.

The Kennametal plant laid off twelve of its workers this past week.  Kennametal produces parts and products for many companies from mining and construction to transportation and military.

Along with Kennametal, Vermont Aerospace manufacturing has also let go of some employees.  The company laid off thirty-two employees.  Vermont Aerospace had somewhere near 200 employees before the lay-offs.

Neither of the two companies was available for comment.
