New Lights Brighten St. Johnsbury School

ST. JOHNSBURY - The St. Johnsbury School is in the process of getting new lighting for their classrooms.
New lights with dimmer switches will be installed in all classrooms. The lights will be on more often in the classroom, but they will be using less candlepower.
The school wants to avoid turning off lights in the classroom because of the affect it has on students when taking notes. When lights are kept on in the classroom, it can be difficult to read smart boards, as the projector can create a glare on the screen. The new lights will allow classrooms to dim the lights, which would get rid of the glare on the board.
St. Johnsbury School Facilities Coordinator Patrick Campbell believes that with the change in technology in classrooms, adjustments are going to have to be made. "They can't see it because there's so much bright light in the room," said Campbell. "They have to turn the lights off in order to be able to view the equipment."
All lighting options will be considered until the bidding ends for the project on November 29th.
