Maple Festival

Saint Johnsbury is referred to by some as the "maple center of the world", and this year's world maple festival proved it.
The beautiful weather brought a large crowd of all ages to the downtown Saint Johnsbury area. A large portion of Railroad Street was shut down as sounds and smells engulfed Saint Johnsbury.
Lorna Fogg a Maple Sugarer said, "Attendance is excellent today a lot of people around. It's a beautiful day. A lot of sun."
Caledonian County Maple Association President, Allan Fogg was very impressed by the,"Really great crowd people seem really happy to be here out in the sunshine with their families and dogs children and it's a really nice day."
Amidst the crafts the food and the fun there were people doing good. Cameron Tolotta is trying to raise money to compete in a national baking competition.
She was selling, maple glazed donuts just to cut the cost of sending seven gold medalists out to Kansas City.
Cherrie Montgomery was also trying to raise money for troops and their children, "We are selling baked goods to support all of our families of the deployed soldiers. The money goes to the activities to support the families and the books at the Athenaeum.
