Conservation Commission Membership Low

BURKE - The Burke Conservation Commission is in search of new members.

Established about four years, the Burke Conservation Commission is a group of volunteers whose goal is to protect natural resources and educate people about being more energy efficient. The commission's current project is based around planting trees along rivers to help with runoff from the river.

The group has around seven members presently and as a result of recent resignations they are looking for more members.

"If we were to have a full group it allows us to kind of divide and conquer a little more we can make," said Chris Manges, Burke Conservation Commission member, "you know, smaller committees when we feel like the group is kind of small anyway it feel like sometimes its hard to take on more projects."

The commission plans to look for potential members at town meeting day, on March 6th. Any prospective members have to be approved by the Burke Selectboard.
