A.S.S.I.S.T club helps collect donations for the military

A care package drive for troops serving in Afghanistan began today in the Alexander Twilight Theatre lobby at Lyndon State College.

The assist club is working in collaboration with the American Legion to gather items to be sent to the 80 soldiers from the Lyndonville armory that are deployed to Afghanistan. Non-perishable snack items...healthcare items...games...movies...and reading material are some of the products the legion is hoping to collect. Club President of A.S.S.I.S.T., Miranda Saunders, explains where to bring the items people would like to donate.

"You can bring items to us here. We'll be collecting next Tuesday and Thursday 11:30-1:30 in the student center. You can also bring items to the Legion. It's located on route 5 in Lyndonville."
